My Discovery
My old Discovery as mentioned on the home page was a 2001 model TD5 ES Auto 7 Seat Premium model. It was an import model and had 18" Mondial alloys and rear air conditioning typifying this.
Here is a recent article from Auto Express magazine which featured me and my Discovery
Additional modifications/extras I had made/added were, VDO Dayton MS5000 Satellite Navigation, Midland 42 CB Radio, K & N air filter, rear lamp guards and twin rear Jate recovery rings.
Things I liked about it
It's big
It feels safe
Lots of room inside
It's fairly quiet at speed (click the icon below to hear how noisy it is inside the Discovery at 70 mph on the motorway)
Superb Auto gearbox
Very smart leather interior
Excellent Off Road
Fantastic ACE suspension system
The Harmon Kardon stereo system
The climate control and rear aircon
Very comfy seats in the front
It's a Land Rover!!
Things I didn't like about it
Fuel economy
The rear sunroof leaked
The gaps at the bottom of the door seals that let the water in
The cost of servicing at a main dealer
The headlamps aren't very bright
Would I buy another? Hell, Yes!! Wouldn't have anything else!!!!!!!
(Uh, that's not strictly true as I have now sold it and bought an MG ZT 190+ and a Land Rover 90)
