1. Changes to This Manual
This manual has been expanded to include new features in Red Hat Linux 9 as well as topics requested by our readers. Significant changes to this manual include:
- Implementing Disk Quotas
This new chapter explains how to configure and manage disk quotas.
- Authentication Configuration
This new chapter explains how to use the Authentication Configuration Tool.
- User Configuration
This chapter has been expanded to include the command line utilities for managing users and groups as well as an explanation of what happens when a new user is added to the system.
- Samba
This chapter has been expanded to include the new Samba Server Configuration Tool.
- Printer Configuration
This chapter has been rewritten for the new Printer Configuration Tool interface, the new GNOME Print Manager, and the new drag and drop printer icon on the panel.
- Kickstart
